Reflect, Then Reset: A New Year’s Approach

The new year is a chance to start fresh—whether last year was all you hoped for or you’re ready to turn the page. But setting goals and envisioning the player and person you want to become isn’t enough. Growth requires reflection. Without looking back on the past year, it’s hard to truly change or improve.

These 10 questions can guide your reflection and set the tone for the year ahead:

  1. What did I do well that I want to build on this year?

  2. If I could improve only one thing, what would make the biggest difference?

  3. What would I do differently if I had the chance to relive last year?

  4. What habit made the most positive impact on my performance?

  5. What consistently held me back from improving?

  6. How did my own actions or mindset contribute to any challenges I faced?

  7. Who supported my growth and development the most?

  8. Who or what created obstacles for me, and how did I respond?

  9. Are my goals based on my own standards of success, or influenced by others’ opinions?

  10. What steps can I take to ensure I have more control over my progress this year?

Big changes start small. Reflect, course correct, and set your path toward a successful year.
